Overview
Duvera supplies a complete range of Thermax Tulsion® Softening Resins, engineered for efficient hardness removal and consistent soft water production. These strong acid cation exchange resins are widely used in domestic, commercial, and industrial softeners to remove calcium and magnesium ions responsible for scaling and hardness. Built on cross linked polystyrene–divinylbenzene (DVB) matrices, Tulsion® softening resins deliver excellent mechanical strength, high exchange capacity, and long operational life under varying feed conditions.
Key Features
Tulsion® Softening Resins are supplied in sodium form and designed for rapid ion exchange kinetics, ensuring efficient hardness reduction with minimal pressure drop. Their uniform bead size ensures predictable flow distribution and fast regeneration, while their high physical and osmotic stability provides excellent resistance to hydraulic shock. The resins exhibit superior regeneration efficiency with both common salt and brine, offering reduced chemical consumption and lower operating cost.
Available in both gel and macroporous structures, these resins maintain strong performance across a wide pH and temperature range, providing reliable soft water output even in continuous-duty applications.
Applications
Softening resins are used in a wide range of applications, including domestic and commercial softeners, industrial boiler feed systems, cooling towers, and process water pre-treatment units. They are particularly effective in industries such as textiles, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and power generation, where soft water quality directly impacts equipment efficiency and product quality.
Specifications
Thermax Tulsion® Softening Resins are typically based on polystyrene–DVB matrix with sulfonic acid functional groups in the sodium form. They offer a total exchange capacity of approximately 1.9 meq/mL, moisture content between 42–48%, and operating pH range from 6 to 10. Maximum operating temperature is 120°C, with particle size ranging between 0.3–1.2 mm depending on grade.
Key models include Tulsion® T-40, T-42, T-52, and T-60, each optimized for different flow rates, pressure drop, and regeneration frequency. The resins are supplied in 25 L and 50 L HDPE bags or drums, ready for direct loading into softener vessels.
