Overview
The DropX PP Wound Cartridge is a precision depth filter designed for high dirt-holding capacity and exceptional mechanical strength. Manufactured by winding continuous polypropylene yarn around a rigid core, it offers true depth filtration with graded pore density — trapping coarse particles on the surface and finer ones deep within the layers. The result is consistent filtration, stable differential pressure, and long operating life across a wide range of industrial and process applications.
Key Features
The uniform winding pattern ensures stable pore structure and minimal media migration, while the high-strength core maintains dimensional stability even under fluctuating pressures. Its large surface area and gradual pore size reduction enable longer filtration runs with reduced cartridge replacement frequency. DropX wound cartridges are available in different yarn densities and winding patterns to optimize dirt-holding capacity and compatibility with various fluids. They are free from adhesives or binders, ensuring clean operation and resistance to bacterial growth.
Applications
Widely used in RO pre-filtration, process water treatment, electroplating, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical systems, the DropX PP Wound Cartridge provides dependable performance in both high-turbidity and critical polishing applications. It is suitable for clarifying feed water, protecting membranes and resins, and removing fine particulates in batch or continuous systems.
Specifications
Constructed from continuous polypropylene yarn wound around a high-strength PP core, the cartridge is available in micron ratings from 1 µm to 100 µm and in standard lengths of 10", 20", 30", and 40". The precision-controlled winding tension ensures even density and consistent filtration performance. It supports DOE and SOE end connections compatible with all standard housings. Operating temperature tolerance is up to 70°C, with a maximum differential pressure of 2.5 bar (clean) and burst resistance up to 4 bar. The rigid structure ensures no fiber migration and allows for long-term operation under demanding conditions.
