Overview

The DropX Orange Peel Cartridge is an enhanced polypropylene melt-blown filter featuring a unique grooved outer surface that increases the effective filtration area and extends service life. Designed for higher dirt-holding capacity and reduced pressure drop, it provides consistent fine filtration performance in industrial and commercial water treatment systems.

Key Features

Unlike conventional smooth-surface cartridges, the Orange Peel design incorporates spiral grooves along the outer surface that increase the contact area between the cartridge and water flow. This enables efficient particle capture and distribution, minimizing clogging and maintaining steady differential pressure. The graded density structure ensures coarse particles are trapped in the outer layers while finer particles are retained deeper within the media. The result is longer cartridge life, stable performance, and reduced maintenance frequency.

Widely used in RO pre-filtration, UF and DM plant feed filtration, process water treatment, and beverage or chemical applications, the Orange Peel Cartridge is ideal wherever extended filter life and consistent pressure flow are critical. Constructed entirely from melt-blown polypropylene with a gradient pore structure, the cartridge is available in micron ratings from 0.5 µm to 100 µm and standard lengths of 10", 20", 30", and 40". The spiral-grooved surface increases effective area by up to 40% compared to plain cartridges, significantly enhancing dirt-holding capacity. It operates effectively at differential pressures up to 2.5 bar (clean) and can tolerate maximum pressures of 4 bar.
