Overview

DropX Cleaning Agents are specialized formulations developed for effective Clean-In-Place (CIP) maintenance of RO, UF, and NF membranes. Over time, membranes accumulate scale, organic deposits, and biological growth that reduce permeability and efficiency. DropX membrane cleaners are scientifically formulated to dissolve, disperse, and remove these foulants without harming the membrane surface, restoring performance and extending membrane life.

Key Features

DropX Cleaning Agents are available in acidic, alkaline, and enzymatic variants to target different types of fouling. The acidic formulations effectively remove inorganic scales such as calcium carbonate, iron, and metal oxides, while alkaline variants remove organic, oily, and biological deposits. The enzymatic formulations are designed to break down complex organic biofilms and proteins gently yet efficiently. Each cleaner is low-foaming, non-aggressive to membrane materials, and fully compatible with all major RO and UF membrane types. These formulations are easy to prepare and use in standard CIP systems, ensuring quick restoration of membrane flux and salt rejection.

DropX Cleaning Agents are used in RO, UF, and NF systems across power plants, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, and municipal water treatment applications. They are ideal for preventive maintenance and periodic cleaning cycles to restore performance in membranes affected by fouling, scaling, or biofilm formation. They are also suitable for use in high-recovery systems and plants using varying feed sources such as brackish or recycled water.

Specifications

DropX membrane cleaners are supplied as concentrated liquid or powder formulations. Typical use concentration ranges from 1% to 2% by volume depending on foulant severity. The recommended cleaning pH for alkaline formulations is 10–12, while acidic cleaners operate effectively at pH 2–3. Cleaning temperature ranges from 30°C to 40°C for optimal performance, and each cleaning cycle lasts approximately 30–60 minutes depending on system condition. All DropX cleaners are safe for use with polyamide and PVDF membranes and are supplied in 5 kg, 25 kg, and 50 kg containers with a shelf life of 12 months under normal storage conditions.
