Duvera is the authorised dealer for Grafil's Ultrafiltration (UF) Membranes, built on a proprietary Polynorbit polymer chemistry invented by an IIT Kanpur alumni. This breakthrough material combines extreme hydrophilicity with robust durability, making Grafil one of the most advanced UF solutions available for industrial, municipal, and wastewater reuse applications.
Key Features
At the heart of Grafil UF membranes lies the Polynorbit polymer, engineered to deliver unparalleled fouling resistance and chemical stability. Thanks to its extreme hydrophilicity, the membrane behaves much like the surface of the human eye — requiring only water backwash for cleaning, instead of relying on harsh chemical enhanced backwash (CEB) or air scouring. This not only reduces operating costs but also extends membrane life significantly. The outside-in hollow fiber configuration enables robust operation even under challenging feed conditions, while the modular design ensures easy scalability and retrofit compatibility.
Applications
Grafil UF membranes are widely deployed in industrial process water treatment, sewage and effluent recycling, municipal reuse projects, and groundwater purification. They also serve as an ideal pre-treatment for RO systems, ensuring stable SDI levels and extending the life of downstream membranes.
Specifications
Grafil UF modules are constructed with outside-in hollow fibers made from Polynorbit polymer, housed in uPVC shells. Each fiber has an outer diameter of 1.2 mm and inner diameter of 0.8 mm, with a pore size of 0.02 microns. Operating pH ranges from 3.5 to 10.5, with cleaning tolerance from pH 2 to 12.
Temperature limits are 5°C minimum and 40°C maximum. Modules can withstand instantaneous chlorine tolerance up to 200 mg/L and handle feed water turbidity up to 100–300 NTU.
Performance guarantees include filtrate turbidity below 0.5 NTU, <1 mg/L TSS, SDI <3, 6-log bacteria removal, and 4-log virus removal. Offered in 5 standard models 4040 / 6040 / 8040 / 8060 / 10060 that has nominal membrane area from 9 m2 to 100 m2.
