Overview
We offer Thermax Tulsion® Adsorbent Resins, non-ionic, highly porous polymeric materials designed for the adsorption of organic compounds, color, and odor molecules from aqueous and non-aqueous solutions. Unlike ion exchange resins, these adsorbents work through physical adsorption and van der Waals forces, providing superior selectivity and regeneration capability. They are widely used for purification, decolorization, product recovery, and removal of trace organics from process streams, offering an effective and economical alternative to activated carbon.
Key Features
Tulsion® Adsorbent Resins are based on crosslinked styrene–divinylbenzene matrices with precisely controlled pore size and surface area. Their macroporous structure allows rapid adsorption kinetics and high capacity for a wide range of organic molecules, from low-molecular-weight solvents to large dyes and tannins. The resins are hydrophobic, chemically inert, and thermally stable, ensuring consistent performance across multiple adsorption–desorption cycles. They exhibit minimal swelling, excellent mechanical strength, and can be easily regenerated using mild solvents or alkaline solutions. Compared to activated carbon, they offer higher regeneration efficiency, longer service life, and reduced risk of channeling or fines carryover.
Applications
Tulsion® Adsorbent Resins are used for color and odor removal, TOC reduction, and purification of pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, and fine chemicals. They are also applied in wastewater and process water treatment to remove trace organic contaminants, phenols, and pesticides. In sugar and beverage industries, they serve as effective decolorizing media, while in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, they are used for product recovery, solvent extraction, and separation of organics from aqueous streams.
Specifications
Popular grades include ADS-400, ADS-600, and ADS-800, each with tailored pore size distribution and surface area ranging from 500 to 1000 m²/g. The resins are spherical, off-white in color, and exhibit a moisture content of 60–70%. Average particle size ranges between 0.3–1.2 mm, with operating pH range of 1 to 14 and service temperature up to 150°C. Regeneration can be performed using aqueous caustic, alcohols, or solvents depending on adsorbed species. The resins are supplied in 25 L or 50 L HDPE bags and are fully compatible with packed or fluidized bed systems.
